Value Care, Value Nurses at ARHS
Last Spring, nurses at Bon Secours and AltoonaHospital formed a union to improve care for our patients and make our health system the employer of choice for nurses.
We’re calling upon the administration of Altoona Regional Health System to:
-
Value Care by eliminating the dangerous practice of mandatory overtime and setting minimum nurse-to-patient ratios to ensure that there will always be enough nurses working at the bedside to ensure the highest possible care. Read more about safe staffing.
-
Value Nurses by bringing wages and benefit levels up so our health system stops trailing similar hospitals and leads the region to attract the best nursing talent to Altoona. Read what ARHS nurses have to say about wages and nurse recruitment.
-
Respect nurses and our community’s health care resources, by investing in patient care and working diligently to settle a contract that values care and values nurses.
-
Listen to Nurses. Our hospital should be the provider of choice for patients and employer of choice for nurses. This can only happen if nurses are full partners in the decisions that affect patients and our hospital.
